Honorary Wine Ambassadors

We are very pleased to announce our four wine ambassadors:

Stoller - Dayton, Oregon
Owen Roe - Washington
Pahlmeyer - Napa, California
Dr. Loosen - Bernkastel, Germany

Stoller - Dayton, Oregon
Stoller is a world-class winery located in Oregon’s Dundee Hills. Our 176 acres of vines are planted primarily to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and we benefit from using the latest in environmental technology, balanced by our sustainable farming practices.  Our solar-generating, gravity-flow winery is the first in the USA to have attained a Gold level LEED® certification for its design and construction and we continually seek out new ways to minimize our ecological footprint on the environment.
In 2008, Wine & Spirits Magazine’s Best in the World of Wine issue named Stoller as one of the USA’s top new wineries. Excellent reviews from publications ranging from the San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times and The Wine Advocate reinforce our commitment to producing quality wine from our estate vineyard.

Owen Roe - Washington
David O’Reilly is the wildly popular co-founder of Sineann, and co-founder and winemaker for Owen Roe Winery and several associated wines - including O’Reilly’s, Sharecropper, and his newest project from Washington State, Corvidae. His intensely-flavored, highly sought after wines are carefully crafted from grapes grown in the Willamette Valley and from the best vineyard sites in Yakima Valley and are distinctively labeled, often with striking wood-cut printed images.

David has a well-earned reputation for his relentless and uncompromising commitment for producing wines of the highest quality. His meticulous approach and efforts in the vineyard, as well as in the winery, help him create wines that are considered among the most compelling and expressive that the Northwest has to offer. He has recently expanded his own vineyard holdings in Yakima with the purchase of the Outlook and Rattlesnake Hills Vineyards. In addition, David has been coaxing the very best from other legendary vineyards including Red Willow, DeBrul and Horse Heaven Hills.

Pahlmeyer - Napa, California
Almost 25 years ago, Jayson Pahlmeyer realized his dream of producing Bordeaux-style wines from vineyards in California. His first effort, in 1986, stunned the wine world when the industry’s most famous wine critic awarded Pahlmeyer’s “Red Table Wine” with 94 points. Connoisseurs, collectors and wine lovers everywhere clamored for his wine and eagerly lined up for subsequent vintages. Suddenly, the country had caught California Cult Wine Fever.

Under Jayson’s guidance over the next two decades, a succession of stellar winemakers & viticulturists have worked their magic helping to bring the Pahlmeyer vision to fruition. Randy Dunn, Helen Turley, Erin Green and collaborations with John Caldwell, David Abreu and Michel Rolland have all contributed to producing wines that are among the finest in the world.  His Chardonnay, Merlot and Proprietary Red Wine truly are Napa Valley legends and to this day are considered the standard by which other wines are measured.

In 1997 Jayson looked to California’s Sonoma Coast where he purchased the Wayfarer Farm which would be the proving ground for one of the first "true" Sonoma Coast wines. This amazing appellation is the prime viticultural source for Chardonnay and Pinot noir and has been referred to by Jayson as California's Cote d'Or. The long-awaited 2005 Pahlmeyer Pinot noir was released in 2007 to rave reviews and the Pahlmeyer story continues. Jayson's wife, Paige, has increased her long-time involvement in the team with her new role as President and his daughter, Cleo, is in sales and marketing.

Dr. Loosen - Bernkastel, Germany
Since taking over his family’s estate in Germany in 1988, Ernie Loosen has electrified the wine world with his boundless enthusiasm, passion, drive and dedication. Recognized as a brilliant, visionary winemaker, he has for over 20 years conjured remarkable wines from Germany’s most hallowed vineyards. His revitalized estate has been at the very forefront of Germany’s remarkable wine renaissance.

In 1999 he came to the Northwest and in a historic collaboration with Chateau Ste. Michelle produced “Eroica” which is considered by many to be the New World’s finest Riesling.  This landmark wine from Washington State has adorned the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 List for 5 consecutive vintages and has recently been anointed by the New York Times as “America’s Favorite Riesling”.

Most recently, Ernie has just completed the purchase of some 40 acres of vineyard land here in the Willamette Valley, and along with his partner, Jay Somers, plans to indulge his passion for Pinot Noir and will begin building his Oregon winery this year.

Ernie Loosen has been named Decanter Wine Magazine’s “Man of the Year” - Gault Millau’s “Winemaker of the Year” and Wine & Spirits “Best German Producer” and one of “The Best Producers of the Last 25 Years."
