Past Events2008 AuctionThe Classic Wines Auction, one of the country’s top charity wine auctions, continued its steady growth from its beginnings in 1982 when it raised $9,000 to the current record of over $3 million raised at the March 1st auction to benefit five Portland area charities. The annual week-long events included a partnership with Taste Walla Walla, 33 winemaker dinners, an Ambassadors dinner and awards and the Gala Auction at the Oregon Convention Center. The five charities benefiting from auction revenues include Metropolitan Family Service, New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children, and Trillium Family Services and YWCA Clark County.

Bethel Heights Winery, received the 2008 ORVI Award, which honors individuals who have demonstrated significant achievements in building Oregon's wine industry and establishing its reputation worldwide. 2008 Wine AmbassadorsEach year, the Classic Wines Auction selects four Honorary Wine Ambassadors to represent the wine industries of Oregon, Washington, California and an International venue. The wines of the following extraordinary winemakers were served at the exclusive Ambassadors Dinner on Friday, February 29, 2008 and at the auction on Saturday, March 1, 2008.
