YWCA Clark County Receives $439,759 from Classic Wines Auction
VANCOUVER, Wash.—The Classic Wines Auction presented YWCA Clark County with a check for $439,759 at a ceremony in Vancouver on Wednesday. This year’s auction raised nearly $3.2 million for five benefiting charities in Southwest Washington and Portland.
Support from the Classic Wines Auction enables YWCA Clark County to empower struggling families and individuals by providing:
- Shelter for 6,181 bed nights at its SafeChoice Domestic Violence Shelter,
- Advocacy for 5,359 individuals through dedicated staff and volunteers of the Sexual Assault Program,
- Nutritious meals and a quality education for 75 children from homeless, transitioning, or low-income circumstances through the Y’s Care Children’s Program,
- Life, career and education guidance for 180 youth aging out of the foster care system through its Independent Living Skills Program, and
- A voice in court for 866 abused, abandoned and neglected children through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program.
This year’s four other benefiting charities are New Avenues for Youth, Friends of the Children – Portland, Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and Metropolitan Family Service (MFS).
