Becky Wasserman & Co. was founded in 1979 by Becky Wasserman-Hone, an American expatriate who has lived in Burgundy since 1968. The company exports wines from small domaines and shippers in Burgundy and other regions.
Their international team is based in Beaune, and follows a simple rule: “If we won't drink it, we won't sell it.”
Paul Wasserman manages the U.S. West Coast and mountain states for Becky Wasserman & Co. He was not yet two years old when the Wassermans moved from Philadelphia to France. Paul’s parents immersed themselves in the food and wine culture of France and the Wasserman dinner table quickly became famous for great food and wine. In the mid-seventies, Paul’s mother, Becky Wasserman, set on the path to becoming the legendary wine exporter. By age twelve, he was helping on a regular basis by translating for customers in the cellars. Paul moved to Los Angeles in 1994, working as a wine buyer for Woodland Hills Wine Company, where he became known among collectors as one of the country’s foremost specialists on French and German wines. He has returned to the family business in 2012 and moved back to Burgundy in 2017.
