Rome & Tuscany with Modern Adventure

From Rome's historic metropolis to the bucolic Tuscan countryside, this package is a truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Three couples will spend two nights in Rome followed by four nights in Tuscany, soaking in Italy through exclusive tours, VVIP access and—of course—the best food and wine in the region.

 

Check in at Eternal City, one of the Rome's premiere hotels renowned by wine lovers far and wide. Over the course of your two-day stay, you'll uncover a coveted Roman experience. Start your trip on the holiest foot with a welcome from the Pope in Vatican City. Yes, you will meet the Pope in person (date dependent). Following your papal audience, you'll tour rarely seen areas of the Vatican. Enjoy a private visit to the Sistine Chapel to marvel at its expansive fresco ceiling the way Michelangelo intended. Next, immerse yourself in the food scene with Katie Parla. The New Jersey native and Yale grad that now calls Rome her home, and will offer her in-depth knowledge experience on a culinary walking tour.

 

The following day, explore the city on a guided Vespa tour. Cruise along winding streets and circuitous aqueducts, taking in the sights and stopping off to dine as you ride. Conclude your evening with special access to Rome's amazing nightlife and speakeasies—among them, the secretive but illustrious Jerry Thomas Project, for unforgettable concoctions and a taste of the roaring twenties. 

 

Say "arrivederci, Roma" with a private helicopter ride across rolling hills and sprawling vineyards to Monteverdi. For the next four days, you'll be treated to the best Tuscany has to offer. Your home will be at your own private villa in a medieval village a top of a hilltop. This is the timeless Tuscany of dreams: meticulously restored, eclectically designed, medieval structures featuring panoramic views engulfed by golden fields and swaying cypress.

 

Explore Montalcino and Montepulciano through VIP wine and food experiences, including a cooking class with Giancarla Bodoni. Bodoni is a culinary pioneer and who produces some of the finest dishes in the region.

 

The following day would make even the Andretti's proud. Visit the private BVLGARI car collection and burn rubber with an exclusive vintage Italian sports car driving experience. Then, take it easy and slow down with guided walks of some of the areas leading local farms. Get a taste of olive oil production and the ingredients that go into making Italian food so iconically bellissima.

 

Your Italian travels will include several more moments of surprise and delight—we won't spoil them just yet. This trip will be lead personally by Luis and Joanne Vargas, co-founders of Modern Adventure. We'll also have a photographer and videographer along to capture key moments. At the end, you'll receive a wonderful keepsake to remember the experiences and to share with friends and family.
