DONATE TO THE CLASSIC WINES AUCTION

With more than 200 silent, super silent and live auction packages offered each year, the Classic Wines Auction – happening on March 3, 2018 –  relies heavily on donations from wineries, businesses, private collectors and the general public. 


First Growth Children and Family Charities, Inc. (dba Classic Wines Auction) is classified as a tax-exempt corporation (Tax ID: 20-1260228) under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). 


WHAT CAN I DONATE?

The Classic Wines Auction offers premier auction packages featuring rare and exquisite wines, international and domestic travel, special dining and party experiences, lodging, entertainment, one-of-a-kind experiences and more!
We welcome your donation of a single bottle of wine, a rare collection of vintages or labels, travel packages and destinations, lodging and even airfare! Please use the forms below to track and submit your tax-deductible donation. Unless otherwise specified any donation received before February 12 will be used for the 2018 Classic Wines Auction.

How to donate to the 2018 Classic Wines Auction

Please review the information below regarding making your donation to the 2018 Classic Wines Auction. We gladly accept donations of wine, non-wine, cash, stock and airline miles at anytime. Generally, all donations submitted before February 12 will be used for that year’s Auction event. Any donations made after February 12 may be used for other Classic Wines Auction produced events including our Corks and Forks urban wine tasting event and the Oregon Polo Classic.

DONATING WINE

We accept wine donations from individuals, collectors, wineries and distributors from all over the world. Donation forms and rules vary depending on the state in which the donations originate. If you are an individual, collector, winery or distributor donating wine, please use the link below to download the Wine Donation Form.

DONATING NON-WINE ITEMS

We gladly accept non-wine donations to include in our silent and live auctions. If you would like to donate event tickets, lodging, jewelry sports packages, unique experiences or any other non-wine item, please use the links below to download a PDF of the Classic Wines Auction non-wine donation form, or submit your information immediately through our secure, online donation form.

Please be sure to include all relevant details of your donation (when, where, number of people, valid dates, expiration dates, limitations, etc.). Unless otherwise noted, all services and certificates will be set to expire on March 3, 2019. Please contact us if your donation includes any display items. Please note that any display items submitted will not be returned unless specifically requested.

MAKING A CASH DONATION

Thank you for considering making a cash donation to support the Classic Wines Auction. We are a 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit organization. Our Tax ID # is 20-1260228. Your financial contribution helps us produce the Classic Wines Auction and raise even more funds for our benefiting nonprofit partners.

DONATING APPRECIATED SECURITIES (STOCK)

First Growth Children and Family Charities (d.b.a. Classic Wines Auction) can accept your appreciated securities, or stock, as a cash donation and apply it towards the purchase of sponsorships, event tickets and/or Auction packages, including our Raise Your Paddle/cash pledge lot.

You may process appreciated stock before or after the Auction. Stock identified will be sold immediately upon receipt. Classic Wines Auction makes no representations as to tax deductibility. Please consult your tax advisor for details in this regard.

PROCESS BEFORE THE AUCTION

To ensure that your gift is processed in time for this year’s Auction on March 4, 2017, please be sure to complete your donation before February 19, 2017. Your bidder number/name will be credited with an account balance. A receipt will be provided for the value of the stock at the time of sale.

PROCESS AFTER THE AUCTION

If you would like to process your donation after the Auction, please be sure to process your donation by March 28, 2017. A receipt will be provided for the difference between the value of the stock at the time of sale and the amount of your Auction purchases.

If your Auction purchases amount to more than the stock value, you are responsible for paying the difference. If your Auction purchases are less than the stock value, the Classic Wines Auction will reimburse the difference within 30 days of the Auction.

DONATING AIRLINE MILES

Each year, we offer multiple auction packages that include round-trip airline tickets. We appreciate your interest in donating your air miles to help enhance auction packages and alleviate any additional costs associated with purchasing travel accommodations.

To start your air miles donation, please fill out our airline miles donation form. 

Please keep in mind that individual airlines handle the transfer of air miles differently. Please see the general information below for your participating airline. If you have specific questions regarding your air mile eligibility, please contact your air carrier directly.


Donated air miles and points are only tax-deductible in rare circumstances. Please consult with your tax advisor.
